Information results in better public policy. As I write this, I am listening to the debate at second reading of Bill 24, Anti-Racism Data Act. Even Opposition speakers are calling it a milestone. This legislation was co-developed with Indigenous Peoples and in collaboration with racialized communities. Safely collecting demographic information can show where changes need to be made, so we can remove barriers and make services more equitable.
