Dear friends of Burnaby Gogos,

It’s that time of year again and Burnaby Gogos have been busy preparing for our annual craft sale. We thank Deer Lake United Church for providing us with their hall so that we can send as much money as possible to the Grandmothers Campaign. Please share this message with anyone you think may be interested and as always, thanks for your continued support.

What’s up?
The Burnaby Gogos seventh annual Holiday Market, Sunday, November 24.

What’s happening?
The 30 members of Burnaby Gogos have been busy creating unique handcrafted items for this sale.

What will I find at the sale?
Hundreds of items ranging in price will be available for gifts, stocking stuffers or just for yourself. Some notable items you’ll find this year include food gifts, sewn kitchen items such as tablecloths, serviettes (dinner and cocktail) and microwave bowl buddies, eco friendly laundry soap strips, quilts, gifts for pets, Safari denim children’s wear, aprons, signature “gogo” totes and new totes, as well as fresh greens for decorating, a used book sale and a bake sale.

Where does the money that’s raised go?
All proceeds from the sale go directly to the Stephen Lewis Foundation’s Grandmothers to Grandmothers Campaign, which sends 90 per cent to carefully selected community-based projects in 15 countries in Africa. The money will be used to support African grandmothers who have undertaken the nurturing, safety and education of some of the 17 million children orphaned by AIDS.
