BURNABY – New Democrat MLAs Janet Routledge and Anne Kang are welcoming new child care funding for the British Columbia Centre for Ability Association, as part of the B.C. government’s Early Learning and Child Care (ELCC) agreement with the Government of Canada.

“Inclusive child care services are crucial for many children to reach their fullest potential,” said MLA for Burnaby North Janet Routledge. “The British Columbia Centre for Ability Association serves thousands of families throughout the region, and this funding will allow them to grow their capacity even further.”

“For far too long, child care programs have struggled to offer Supported Child Development programs to children with special needs. This investment is a key part of our commitment to deliver affordable, quality child care for all families in B.C.,” added MLA for Burnaby-Deer Lake Anne Kang.

The British Columbia Centre for Ability Association is one of 83 organizations across the province that will be sharing $30 million in funding over the next three years to expand and enhance their Supported Child Development and Aboriginal Supported Child Development programming for families with children with extra support needs.
